Pastor’s child captured the moment of his father’s shooting death following a dispute with a neighbor: “Your brain simply cannot comprehend that.”

A child of the deceased Las Vegas man recorded the last moments of the pastor’s life on camera. A recent lawsuit claims that after an HOA disagreement, the pastor’s next-door neighbor shot and killed him.

The 46-year-old pastor of North Las Vegas’ Grace Point Church, Nick Davi, was shot and killed in front of his townhome in the gated Courts of Aliante neighborhood of Nevada.

On December 29, 2023, Davi, his spouse, and their two kids were packing up their house. Just as the Davises were about to leave, their next-door neighbor Joe Junio allegedly pulled into their driveway.

A family member yelled at Junio, “Why don’t you?” in a video that was captured by one of the Davi children sitting inside a car.

What’s your problem with us, Junio, the pastor allegedly asked?

The neighbor allegedly shot Junio as he got out of the car and moved toward Junio’s car. The pastor’s wife, Sarah Davi, was then shot by the armed neighbor.

Sarah made it through the gunfire. But Nick was shot and killed in front of his twelve- and fifteen-year-old children.

“Your mind just can’t process that,” Grace Point Church colleague pastor Ty Neal said in response to the horrific shooting, as reported by KVVU-TV.

On the same day as the shooting, Junio, 36, was taken into custody. She faced accusations of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, battery, abuse or neglect of a child, and discharging a firearm in a situation where someone could be in danger.

Junio is being held at the Clark County Detention Center on a $300,000 bail.

On January 19, Junio was sued for wrongful death by the pastor’s widow. Sarah Davi is requesting damages in an amount that isn’t specified.

According to the lawsuit, Junio shot and killed the pastor in his driveway after allegedly frightening the family for several weeks.

The family allegedly filed a complaint against Junio for having dogs and chickens close to her property with the homeowners association in their neighborhood.

However, KLAS-TV reported that Junio began displaying “escalating threatening behavior” following the family’s HOA complaint. Because of Junio’s actions, the family reportedly called the police twice in December.

It is said that Junio threw rocks into the family’s backyard. According to police reports, she “ran her finger across her throat in a cutting motion and told them they were next.”

“She was also accused of throwing a large amount of dog feces and flooding Nicholas and Sarah Davi’s home,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Before the killing, the couple had moved out of the house, obtained a restraining order, and was sleeping somewhere else, according to the police.”

Junio, who held a Nevada Real Estate Division license, is accused of publishing an article titled “Avoiding a Nightmare Neighbor When Buying a Home” on Facebook. A “nightmare neighbor” is defined as someone who “complains if your garbage cans are still out five minutes after trash pickup” and “if a dog even sniffs his lawn,” according to a Realty Times article. A nightmare neighbor should be “avoided at all costs,” according to the article.

“The homeowners association knew or should have known that Defendant would likely perform violent actions against deceased and Plaintiff as a result of on-going association dispute,” the lawsuit states regarding the HOA’s involvement in the fatal shooting.

Junio is accused in the lawsuit of not possessing a valid license or permit to carry a firearm.
