Amid the ‘Barbie’ movie Oscars controversy, Hillary Clinton uses the hashtag ‘#HillaryBarbie’.

Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state, tweeted on Wednesday with the hashtag “#HillaryBarbie.”

Oscars.org reports that Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach’s 2023 film “Barbie” is nominated for an Oscar in the writing category for an adapted screenplay. However, Gerwig, who also served as the film’s director, did not receive an Oscar nomination for directing.

Furthermore, even though Margot Robbie and other producers are named in the film’s best picture nomination, Robbie—who also performed in it—is not among the nominees for actress in a leading role.

Ryan Gosling, who was nominated for a supporting Oscar for his work in the picture, reportedly stated in a statement that “there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film.” He stated, “To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.”

Clinton sent a message to the two women, entering the pop culture fray. “Margot & Greta, Millions of fans adore you, even though it can be painful to win at the box office but not win the gold. Both of you are far more than Kenough. #HillaryBarbie “On Twitter, Clinton said.

In response to Clinton’s post, Candace Owens wrote, “This is the exact reason why everyone despises feminism.” A group of extremely well-off and progressive ladies are in tears over the fact that the actress who portrayed Barbie isn’t up for best actress in an Oscar contest. This is today’s predicament for feminists.” Owens stated of Clinton in a another post, “I really wish I could not vote for you again.”

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was defeated by Republican nominee Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race.

GOP Representative Monica De La Cruz of Texas tweeted in reaction to Clinton, saying, “Loved seeing so many moms & girls at the movies last summer, but political leaders (inc. failed ones) should NOT dabble in Oscar punditry.” “It’s bad for art and God knows our politics are already WAY too intertwined w/ entertainment. Stop treating politics like a telenovela!”
