ARIZONA VOTERS WEIGH IN ON HARRIS, RUNNING MATES, AND SUPREME COURT REFORMS

Phoenix, AZ – As the 2024 presidential election heats up, Arizona voters are sharing their thoughts on Kamala Harris’s elevation to presumptive Democratic nominee, potential running mates, and reforms to the Supreme Court.

In a battleground state that Joe Biden won by a narrow margin in 2020, voters expressed relief that Biden is no longer running and support for Harris’s campaign. Many voters preferred Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) as Harris’s running mate, citing his experience and Arizona perspective.

“I’m really hoping it’ll be Mark Kelly, because I think he’s got a lot to offer,” said Jamie Bish, a Democratic voter.

Voters were also open to some of Biden’s proposed Supreme Court reforms, including term limits and a binding code of conduct. However, they expressed a preference for stronger action to reform the Court.

“I think all of them should have term limits – every branch. Absolutely they should,” said David Murphy, an Independent voter.

Regarding proof of citizenship laws, voters generally approved of state laws requiring proof of citizenship to vote, despite court rulings invalidating some provisions.

“We need to make sure that the right people are voting, that are legally able to vote,” said Ashley Richey, a Republican voter.

As the campaign season continues, Arizona voters will be closely watched as a key demographic in the 2024 presidential election.
