Colorado wildfire claims life as California blaze grows

At least one person has died in the Stone Canyon Fire, which has burned over 1,500 acres and destroyed five homes.
The fire remains 20% contained and has led to the evacuation of approximately 2,000 residents.
Governor Jared Polis has mobilized the Colorado National Guard to aid in recovery efforts.
Dry conditions and high temperatures have exacerbated the fire’s spread.

California Wildfire

The Park Fire has become the largest wildfire in the country, burning over 600 square miles (1,550 square kilometers).
The fire is now the fifth largest in California’s history and is on track to potentially become the fourth largest.
Nearly 6,000 firefighters are working to contain the blaze, which has destroyed 437 structures and damaged 42 others.

A man has been charged with arson for allegedly igniting the Park Fire.

National Wildfire Situation

Over 29,000 firefighters and support personnel are engaged in battling 93 large wildfires across the country, covering more than 2 million acres.
High temperatures and dry conditions are expected to continue, making containment efforts more challenging.
