Early in March, Ita Buttrose will be replaced by media veteran Kim Williams as the ABC’s new chair.

Williams will assume the position, as confirmed by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who stated that the cabinet decided on the move yesterday.

Up until 2011, Williams famously oversaw the Foxtel company for tenyears. Additionally, he served as CEO of News Corp Australia for a brief period of time before stepping down after two years, allegedly due to disagreements with reporters.

Regarding Williams’ appointment, Albanese remarked, “Kim is such a perfect fit for the roleā€”it’s almost like it was meant for him.”

He has, of course, directed journalistic organizations, such as journalistic Corp., participated in athletic organizations, and led numerous cultural organizations, including those that produce theater and music.

“Kim is a person who understands ABC.”

Williams went on, “It is obvious that the chair of the ABC has a grave responsibility.”

“I believe that the necessity of being fully verifiably independent, providing genuine journalistic integrity at all times, and, to the extent possible in human affairs, having an aspiration to freedom from bias, is at the core of all journalism at the ABC,” the individual stated.
