PARIS — A blurred and broke felt bicorne cap worn by Napoléon Bonaparte sold for $2.1 million at a closeout of the French head’s possessions Sunday.

The mark wide, dark cap — one of a modest bunch still in presence that Napoléon wore when he governed nineteenth century France and battled in Europe — was at first esteemed at 600,000 to 800,000 euros ($650,000-870,000).
