Netanyahu’s Surprising Stance: ‘We Don’t Seek to Occupy’ Gaza – Unveiling a Game-Changing Strategy?

Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu stood up against the idea that his nation could wind up possessing the Gaza Strip, following its conflict crusade in the territory.

Asked in a meeting with Fox News how long the conflict could endure and whether it would turn into an Israeli control of the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu answered, “Well most importantly we don’t try to oversee, we don’t try to possess it, yet we look to give it and us a superior future and the whole Center East. What’s more, that requires overcoming Hamas.”

“I’ve laid out objectives, I didn’t set a schedule, since you realize it can require greater investment,” the state leader added. “I wish it’ll take brief period, yet we’re continuing bit by bit.”

Israel involved the Gaza Strip from 1967 to 2005, and later forced a land, ocean and air barricade on the small seaside territory when Palestinian assailant association Hamas assumed command over its administration in 2007.

A significant question mark over Israel’s conflict against Hamas is what will befall the Gaza Strip and its 2.3 million inhabitants later — or on the other hand if — Hamas is crushed. Netanyahu said recently that Israel intends to take “in general security obligation” of Gaza endlessly after the conflict, yet has precluded re-occupation.

It stays hazy what “generally security obligation” would seem to be.
