Soriano’s 22 points contribute to St. John’s securing a 90-74 victory over Stony Brook.

Fresh York — In St. John’s 90-74 season-opening victory over Stony Brook on Tuesday, Joel Soriano scored 22 points.

For the Red Storm, Soriano added 11 rebounds and three blocks. Daniss Jenkins finished with 17 points on 7 of 13 shots, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc. He also contributed eight assists, seven rebounds, and eight baskets. Chris Ledlum scored 16 points on 7 of 15 shots, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

For the Sea wolves, Dean Noll finished with 15 points. For Stony Brook, Andre Snoddy contributed 13 points and seven rebounds. Keenan Fitz morris scored eleven points as well.
