Spirit Airlines misplaced an unaccompanied minor on the aircraft.

The boy was recognized by the Fort Myers, Florida, television station WINK as a 6-year-old first-time flyer who was scheduled to see his grandma.

Spirit Airlines has issued an apology for accidentally booking an unaccompanied minor on the incorrect trip during the peak travel period around the holidays.

On Thursday, the child was scheduled to take a flight from Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers to Philadelphia International Airport. However, the airline claims that the child was “incorrectly boarded” on a flight to Orlando.

Spirit claimed in a statement on Saturday that “the child was always under the care and supervision of a Spirit Team Member, and as soon as we discovered the error, we took immediate steps to communicate with the family and reconnect them.”

The airline stated, “We are conducting an internal investigation and take the safety and responsibility of transporting all of our guests seriously.” “We are sorry for this experience and for the family.”

Spirit gave no details on the child or an explanation of the error’s cause. The boy was described by Fort Myers television station WINK-TV as a 6-year-old first-time flyer who was scheduled to see his grandma.

“I hurried to the flight attendant inside the aircraft and asked, ‘Where’s my grandson?'” Did you receive him at Philadelphia? According to Maria Ramos, the boy’s grandmother, she answered, “No, I had no kids with me,” WINK-TV said.

Thankfully, Ramos’ grandchild called her to let her know he had arrived 160 miles away. She expressed her desire for answers to WINK-TV.

Ramos stated, “I want them to give me a call and tell me how my grandson got to be in Orlando.” How did that come to pass? Was he able to exit the aircraft? Did the flight attendant allow him to leave alone after his mother gave him the paperwork? Did he leap alone onto the incorrect plane?
