An allegedly intoxicated driver struck and killed two people who were standing next to their car on Military Parkway early on Sunday morning, according to police.
At approximately five in the morning, Dallas police were called to the 6700 block of Military Parkway. Joel Rosales-Perez, 23, was driving when the car veered off the road, struck another car, and then struck two people who were standing outside the vehicle, according to the report.
Rosales-Perez proceeded to drive, reentering the eastbound lanes, but she struck a light pole, according to the DPD.
The pair struck outside the vehicle perished on the spot. Lester Matute-Urquea, age 21, has been identified as one victim, according to the DPD. With assistance from the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office, the identity of the second victim will be determined.
Rosales-Perez is accused of two counts of manslaughter by intoxication. The Dallas County Jail received him.
