The brother of Marcus Rashford had his Florida assault charge dropped.

Prosecutors in Miami have dropped an assault charge against Marcus Rashford’s brother and agent, who plays for Manchester United.

On October 20, Dane Rashford was allegedly pulled over by police in Miami Beach, Florida, after riding in the back of an Uber with a woman.

The claimed victim stated in a police report at the time that she had been punched in the face twice.

A court hearing was scheduled for November 27th, but it was never held.

The victim in the case was contacted “numerous times” by phone and email, but the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office informed the BBC that these attempts were “unsuccessful.”

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office was forced to drop the case at the arraignment because the victim’s testimony is necessary for a criminal case to proceed, according to a spokeswoman.

An officer reported contacting the victim in the wee hours of the morning after being called to a four-star hotel on Miami Beach, according to the police report that the BBC obtained in November.

Before taking Mr. Rashford, of Wilmslow, into custody and accusing him of battery, officers obtained statements from the victim and his sister, Chantelle Maynard.

However, Alex Spiro, the attorney for Mr. Rashford, stated that the charges against the 31-year-old were “quickly dismissed” and called the incident a “misunderstanding.”

“Mr. Rashford did not even have to appear in court,” he continued.

It is known that the Rashford family feels that the issue has been settled.
