Women’s Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka triumphs over Zheng Qinwen in a commanding manner.

Aryna Sabalenka triumphantly defended her Australian Open women’s championship on Saturday, defeating Zheng Qinwen of China 6-3 6-2 in the Melbourne final to cap off an impressive tournament in which she lost just one set.

From the beginning of the 76-minute match, the Belarusian thoroughly overpowered the No. 12 seed and pinned her far behind the baseline with her arsenal of potent groundstrokes.

Sabalenka’s remarkable tournament continued with this strong showing, as the world No. 2 easily defeated every opponent she faced en route to the championship match.

In a same manner, she won her second grand slam championship, making history as the first female champion of the Australian Open since her countrywoman Victoria Azarenka did so more in 2012–13.
