AWS EXECUTIVE HIGHLIGHTS INDIAN COMPANIES’ PROGRESS IN REDUCING CARBON FOOTPRINT

In a recent statement, Jenna Leiner, Global Head of Environment Social Governance (ESG) and External Engagement at AWS, praised Indian companies for their efforts in reducing their carbon footprint. Leiner noted that many Indian companies have achieved significant reductions in their carbon emissions by transitioning to AWS cloud infrastructure.
AWS has committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions in its operations by 2040, with a focus on improving energy efficiency, transitioning to renewable energy, and reducing embodied carbon in its infrastructure. Leiner emphasized that cloud computing can help reduce carbon emissions by up to 99% compared to on-premises infrastructure, with AWS’s infrastructure being up to 4.1 times more efficient.

Leiner also highlighted AWS’s continuous innovations to increase efficiency and reduce carbon footprint, including advancements in data center design, cooling techniques, purpose-built silicon, and sustainable construction practices.
In related news, Apple has introduced a new “Distraction Control” feature for Safari users, aimed at helping users minimize digital distractions and maintain focus while browsing the internet. The feature offers customizable settings to suit user preferences and reduce distractions, enhancing productivity and user experience.
