It seems that Britney Spears apologized to her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake for remarks she made in her autobiography.
In The Woman in Me, she claimed that he had cheated on her with “another celebrity” and advised her to have an abortion because he “didn’t want to be a father.”
However, she shared a video of him performing his songs on Saturday Night Live with Jimmy Fallon on social media on Monday.
“I wanna apologise for some of the things I wrote about in my book,” she wrote in addition to the Instagram post.
Spears wrote: “I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone that I genuinely care about.
“I also wanted to say how much I adore the new song Selfish by Justin Timberlake.
“It’s hilarious—why do I laugh so much whenever I see Jimmy and Justin together?”
According to US media, Spears released a song in 2011 with the same name. Some of her fans tried to get her Selfish track to rank higher on the charts than Timberlake’s new single.
From 1999, when Spears was seventeen, to 2002, she was the NSync singer’s girlfriend.
Additionally, the singer of Baby One More Time stated in her autobiography, which was published in October 2023, that she had second-guessed whether getting an abortion after finding out she was pregnant.
She wrote, “I never would have done it if it had been up to me alone.”
“Yet Justin was quite certain that he didn’t want to have children.”

Following a social media backlash over the claims, Timberlake seemed to disable comments on his Instagram for a while.
In 2021, he posted on Instagram, saying, “I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.” He has not publicly responded to this.
“I want to apologise to Janet Jackson and Britney Spears specifically because I know I failed and I care about these women.”
Spears has been married three times. She and dancer Kevin Federline had two children together.
The Toxic singer wrote about her contentious conservatorship in her book as well.
She described herself as a “child robot” and said that her father had informed her that he now had legal authority over both her personal and business affairs, stating, “I am Britney Spears now.”
Additionally, Spears declared last week that she would “never return to the music industry” in response to rumors that she was preparing a studio comeback.
