Before the Iowa caucuses results were announced, Marc Lotter, the former director of communications for Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign,
Lotter maintains that there “hasn’t been a race for quite a bit here,” despite the fact that the months-long contest for the Republican nominee has only recently began.
He declares, “This thing is over,” and goes on to imply that Trump’s opponents “just haven’t realized it yet.” Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio engaged in a similar behavior in 2016, endorsing the [previous] president and spearheading the Make America Great Again movement.
Lotter predicts that Ron De Santis and Nikki Haley will “quickly fall in line” in the near future.
